Tandoori Spice is a mixture of spices with garlic, cayenne, lemon peel and paprika. Traditionally mixed with yogurt and used as a seasoning for chicken, Tandoori spice is mostly savory with a hint of sweetness. It is traditionally used for cooking in a tandoor, or clay oven, in traditional Indian, Pakistani and Afghan cooking. 

While the exact mix of spices can vary, the classic red-orange color of Tandoori Spice is always present. We enhance our blend with a touch of beet powder for a natural color boost that never takes away from the pure flavor of these exotic ingredients. The color red is dynamic in Indian culture, representing the color of the fertile clay that brings hearty harvests as well as a symbol of wealth.
