Ancho Honey Citrus Marinated Grilled Pork Chop

Juicy bone-in pork chops are brined then marinated with our spicy, citrusy Ancho-Honey Citrus Spice for double the flavor.

Prep time: 90 min | Cook time: 20 min | Serves: 2

  • 2 each thick cut, bone-in pork chops

  • 1/3 cup Kosher salt

  • 2 Tbsp sugar

  • 3 cups water

  • 4 Tbsp Ancho Honey Citrus Spice

  • ½ cup vegetable Oil

  • 1 clove garlic, chopped

  • 1 Tbsp onion, chopped

  • 1 Tbsp barbecue sauce of your choice

  • 1 bay leaf

  1. Bring the kosher salt, 1 tablespoon of the Ancho Honey Citrus Spice, water and sugar to a simmer in a small pot. Cook until salt and sugar are dissolved.  Remove from heat and cool to room temp. Pour into a container that will fit the pork chops, and immerse the chops in this. Refrigerate for one and a half hours.

  2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix the vegetable oil, chopped garlic, onion, barbeque sauce, bay leaf, and 3 remaining tablespoons Ancho Honey Citrus Spice.

  3. After chops are brined, pat dry with paper towel and immerse into the ancho honey marinade. Refrigerate overnight.

  4. Preheat a charcoal or gas grill to medium heat. Remove the chops from the marinade and shake off excess.  Season lightly with kosher salt and pepper, and grill for 15 to 20 minutes, turning chops every few minutes to cook evenly.  Brush with marinade occasionally while cooking. When cooked through, allow to rest for 5 minutes.
